The Gap Between

Knowing

and

Doing

n life there is a difference between what you need to know
and what you need to do. For small business, larger
internal departments, and/or independent contractors,
there is a gap between knowing and doing. By
Idefining what one needs to know, and then what
one needs to do, helps to bring clarity to these two

Need to Know: One’s Values. What are those
B non-negotiable core values that you will not violate?
For REALTORS® these values may transcend the NAR
Code of Ethics? Other small businesses have value statements
which are often developed or revised during the strategic
planning process.
Often the values are the talents exhibited by the individuals
within any organization. To know the team’s talents may include using
an individual talent assessment such as the Attribute Index based on the
science of Axiology by Dr. Robert Hartman.
Another psychometric assessment is the DISC, which looks to behaviors.
Our behaviors are either natural or adaptive. We adapt to specific situations,
