The

            “VaLue” Confusion

n sales and life, the word value is used regularly. The word value conjures
different thoughts for everyone. All of these thoughts create confusion,
and that confusion creates a lack of clarity. The lack of clarity creates
missed opportunities to improve business performance as well as personal
                           interactions.

value is both a noun and a verb, which supports the natural confusion about
this word (Webster’s 7 New Collegiate Dictionary).

Value is from the Latin word valere meaning “to be worth”. Noun definitions
include: “(1) fair return...in goods and services; (2) the monetary worth:
marketable price, degree of excellence, something intrinsically valuable or
                           desirable; or (8) denomination.”
